It was a celebration night @samssteak. It was the perfect night with music, outstanding service, thanks Val, and delicious food. I ordered a peppercorn sirloin with the full knowledge I would not be able to eat the entire steak. The conversation turned to how I would reimagine my leftovers.
I looked around my vegetable drawer and the answer to the question became a steak barley soup. I sauteed the onions, carrots, potato, and roasted red pepper. I added the diced steak in at the last minute for a quick stir. We were in for a long day with the workers running around the house, so I put these ingredients, along with beef broth, barley, and ditalini pasta, into my crock pot. The aroma filled the kitchen throughout the day and was the perfect way to end the day along with a glass of wine. Obviously!
