Our weekly supper club meal @abrandt1026 took on the festive air of Mardi Gras. We started the evening off with fun in the backyard to work up our appetite. We brought along our puppy, Bonny Doon, with her soccer ball and turned on a bubble machine for our great niece. The adults were having as much fun watching the puppy and baby enjoying their time together with their new toys.
We moved the party inside for a healthy portion of Red Beans and Rice. Big Guy found this recipe @nytcooking which was inspired by jazz singer and trumpeter Louis Armstrong. He loves to make this recipe, but only once a year since it takes a full day to cook it. The time is worth the effort especially when you taste the flavors of the red beans, ham, and smoked sausage meld together. The party was complete with the serving of the King Cake. Thanks for our friends @missouribakingco for making this festive dessert. It was the perfect end to our celebration. Laissez les bon temps rouler!
