BIRTHDAYS AND APPLE PIE!

Big Guy had a birthday we would only laugh about when we were younger. I am alluding to the song from the Beatles, “When I’m Sixty-Four.” I vividly remember thinking that was old when I was younger, and it would be “forever” before either of us would see that birthday. Time flies!

Annual trips around the sun are not exciting for my Big Guy, but it does not stop him from asking for his favorite dessert. He loves my Apple Crumb Pie which I started making early in our marriage. The good news is I tend to make two pies, so my niece, @abrandt1026, benefited as well!

Big Guy declared the pie the best one I ever made, but he does tend to say that each time I make the pie. I can only attribute the elevation of flavor to the use of Honeycrisp apples and extra tasting to make sure the balance of ingredients was perfect. I also included a heavy dose of love since I intend to “still feed” him as he turned sixty-four!
