Big Guy admits he overplanted tomatoes this year, but he passionately believes in planting extra for the squirrels as payment for not eating all of them. The clever fellow even planted four “decoy” tomatoes, but our daffy squirrel is too smart and has been munching on our San Marzanos.
Big Guy, I believe, was on to something as the San Marzanos have now become a decoy for our heirloom tomatoes. We are currently getting a nice crop of Black Krim and Cherokee tomatoes, so it was time to make another favorite summer meal…bruschetta! I know you can get the same ingredients of tomatoes, garlic, onion, and basil from the store, but there is nothing better than grabbing it from the garden. It is a good thing we have another loaf of bread from @weredoughbaking to complete another delicious summer meal!
