I admit as I get older time can be a fickle mistress. For example, Big Guy and I were early adopters of Eleven-Eleven Mississippi. We would go faithfully for their rustic Tuscan/California cuisine upon their opening in 2003. We celebrated milestones from anniversaries to my 40th birthday in the Wine Room with our family and friends. We even got to be taste testers for new appetizers being thought of for the menu.
Life changed and we found ourselves being caregivers for our aging parents. Between work and their needs, our carefree days of eating out became rare. We are now retired and determined to revisit and again enjoy our favorite haunts. It was a delight to walk into Eleven-Eleven and see its consistency, vibrancy, and attention to service and delicious food. We were not disappointed as we sampled our spring pea arancini and poached pear and fig flatbread. We followed that with chicken fettucine and pistachio pesto pappardelle along with a lovely bottle of Charles and Charles rose. It was the perfect evening and a great way to return to an old favorite restaurant.
