My mom’s go-to dinner was hamburger and potatoes as it always satisfied our hungry family. Mom used to joke that @generalmills copied our family recipe when the company introduced Hamburger Helper.
As the winter weather continues, I could not help but tap into this childhood favorite. In one pan I browned the hamburger while sautéing the onions, red pepper, and potatoes in another pan. The use of two pans comes in handy if you have too much grease in your meat and wish to rinse it. Once you have your hamburger and vegetables cooked, you blend them together to create your final dish. It is a hearty meal that, according to my family, is perfect with Heinz ketchup on top!
