Lemon Drizzle Cake

I love to watch cooking shows, but one that I love, but could never compete in, is @britishbakeoff. I am confident in my ability to make cookies aka biscuits, but the rest becomes a challenge for me as you need to be precise with your ingredients.

My first attempt at making lemon drizzle cake from @paulhollywoodbakes was a total disaster. The bake looked good but fell flat as the loaf cooled on the counter.

Enter Big Guy who, like Major Charles Emerson Winchester III of M*A*S*H fame, says “I do one thing at a time, I do it very well, and then I move on.” He read the recipe and broke down the steps making sure we paid attention to every detail.

I would not expect a Hollywood handshake, but I think we did well this time. We added lemon curd from @larder_cupboard as a topping on the served slice and it was magic!
