Big Guy and I love to watch @britishbakeoff. I realize it is a competition, but I love the camaraderie among the contestants and the support of the cast. It amazes me every week to watch these bakers make creations that I would never imagine in my lifetime.
It is because of this show that I had to read Olivia Ford’s book entitled Mrs. Quinn’s Rise to Fame. The story revolves around Jenny Quinn, who after fifty-nine years of marriage, decides to secretly apply to be a contestant on Britain Bakes. The story was delightful, especially reading how she not only maneuvered the strange world of the show, but the secret of being on the show. It is certainly worth reading since there are additional twists to the plot that keep you reading long into the night! The perfect match between your reading and television viewing of a baking competition.
