Tomatoes! Tomatoes! Tomatoes!

We were recently rewatching an episode of Vicious when Penelope declared, “I just remembered something, the tomato is a fruit.” It was a conversation stopper followed by the usual hilarity that made the show so special.

I keep thinking of this episode as I collect tomatoes from @carondeletgarden. Big Guy and I have enjoyed a lovely harvest of patio tomatoes and now heirloom tomatoes. I am not sure if the grouping this year is a force field against the squirrels, or if we are getting faster at plucking them out.

I am glad we have been able to share our bounty with family and friends. Just remember as Miles Kington said, “Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.”
