Big Guy and I are fans of Fall weather, but St. Louis is once again proving you must stick around to get to it. We stopped off @parkerstable to pick up wine, bread, and raclette cheese with the goal of starting in on our favorite meals of the fall.
It was early in our marriage when a friend introduced us to the joy of a raclette meal. We gathered around the table, with our rented machine, to melt cheese and cook our own meats and vegetables on the top plate. It was always a joyous occasion with delightful stories, plenty of wine, and fun combinations of food we could create right in front of us. We do not have to rent a machine anymore as we now own one. We still enjoy pulling it out and recapturing the joy of the meal. Thanks to our friends @parkerstable, we have been introduced to French raclette along with the traditional Swiss raclette. We can now add domestic raclette to the mix. @springbrookfarmcheese Reading Vermon Raclette-Style Cheese uses traditional cheese-making methods to produce a crazy good cheese. Wade recommended the Jean Boxler Edelzwicker (“edel” which means noble and “zwicker” which means blend) an Alsatian white wine that is floral and luscious with a medium body and is incredibly versatile. The perfect accompaniment to our cheese and grilled vegetable dinner. You cannot go wrong with @parkerstable recommendations!
