It is always a joy to discover and learn about cooking from others who have a strong passion for it. In today’s world, we are used to seeing cooking shows from the humble cook to the accomplished chef on various channels. What surprised me is one who had a St. Louis connection. I realize for the younger set you will ask the question: Who is Vincent Price? Mr. Price was best known for his work in horror films in the 1950’s and 1960’s, but also appeared on stage, television and radio in his career. In addition to his entertainment career, Mr. Price was considered by many to be a gourmet chef. In fact, he and his second wife Mary published many cookbooks of which I own one. I am still working my way through the cookbook, but it has been fun to think of a Hollywood type toiling away in the kitchen to make the perfect meal while learning his lines for his next horror film. If you wish to learn more about this St. Louis native check out his website. He is quoted on the splash page which I think is a real statement about a life well-lived. “A man who limits his interests limits his life.” I guess he learned that from Country Day!
