It was a fun day away from the Carondelet Kitchen. Big Guy and I took in a member’s series talk @mobotgarden featuring Jen Schamber, General Manager, @greenscapegardens_stl. Jen spoke to the audience about the best ways to extend the fall planting season and her favorite plants to give your garden the sparkle it deserves going into the holiday season. It was a great presentation!
After a walk around the garden, we decided to go to the Hill for lunch. It does not get more authentic than hitting @amighettis for a quick sandwich. It was our first time in the new location, and it certainly did not disappoint us. I was so impressed with the use of old doors to make the counters and the “ghost” signs were perfection. It was nice to see the new place, but with the attention to what made them a household name…the food. It was great to eat there and realize that while things change, the important things do not. Well done!
