Big Guy and I have been trying to revisit old favorite restaurants as part of our “get out of the house” commitment to kick off the summer with a bang.
Our first stop was @sqwires1415 in historic Lafayette Square. We have been there in the past for brunch and even a wedding, so it seemed a natural first choice to try for lunch. We picked the perfect weather day and opted to sit outside. Louie came out to take care of us, and we were thrilled as he is an extraordinary waiter we remembered from our brunch visits. We knew we “choose wisely” when the entire menu sounded great. We both opted for the gourmet grilled cheese, with bacon, which did not disappoint. The chef grilled the sandwich perfectly on Texas toast, with parmesan and rosemary butter, white cheddar, caramelized onions, and arugula. YUM! We are adding this gem back to our rotation of restaurants to frequent on a regular basis. Bad on us for missing such a terrific food experience!
