Big Guy and I are both big readers, so it is always a good day when we find a book that we cannot put down. The book in question is “Mrs. Quinn’s Rise to Fame” by Olivia Ford. The story is delightful and tells the story of Jenny Quinn and her decision to secretly apply as a contestant on Britain Bakes on the cusp of her diamond wedding anniversary.

If you are a fan of The Great British Bake Off, you will certainly enjoy this book. In fact, it got me thinking about getting back to baking in my own kitchen. Big Guy was thrilled as I baked a batch of shortbread and pecan sandies. Tea anyone?!
