Big Guy and I have loved special restaurants over the years and always seemed to find one item on the menu that we wanted to make at home. Once Upon a Vine is long gone but the memory of outstanding meals and service there are still fresh in our minds.
We used to enjoy a blue cheese savory appetizer cheesecake at the restaurant, but it felt like something too complicated to make at home. I was excited, yet fearful, when I read a recipe for a bacon and Swiss appetizer cheesecake. Was it finally time to make it and claim the recipe as my own? The answer is a resounding yes as the recipe was simple on so many levels. The only thing I have learned for the next time is how to consolidate the number of kitchen utensils I used this first time. As the chef and “bottle washer,” I will not mind one load less of dishes!
