Bellerive Day sponsored by The New Covenant United Methodist Church is an annual tradition that is always on our calendar. It is great to go out to see your neighbors, meet new neighbors, and find a treasure.
Our day always starts at the church to make sure we get a couple of loaves of their cinnamon bread. You can pick out your favorite, so we always look for one with extra icing. Truly heaven on earth! With our map in hand, we ventured out to explore the sales. Our very first stop we scored the Midwestern Junior League Cookbook from 1976. The previous owner told us she was a chef so we will have a story to always share about this book. I promised I would love it as I paid for it and placed it in my tote. The next house we found Le Corden Bleu at Home. The owner said she loved the book so much she did not realize she bought two copies. It is a book full of lesson plans to teach us “American cooks” how to create classic French cuisine. I suspect I will need stretchy pants if I tackle just one complete course! It was a great day in Carondelet. I hope you are out and enjoying this beautiful Fall weather and meeting new friends.
