Can't have too many kitchen gadgets!

I was given a jar popper many years ago by a friend. She is older than me and declared it the perfect gadget for the kitchen. 

This little gadget is not a jar opener as much as it is a vacuum seal breaker. I admit it was lost in my junk drawer for many years before becoming an essential tool in my kitchen.

I am sure you have guessed I am now older, but the tool came in handy for popping the lids off my canned goods. Anyone who has canned will know the lids tend to become one with the jar leaving you frustrated or, heaven forbid, cut from prying the lid off with your nails.

As Julia Child was rumored to say, you can never have enough tools and gadgets in your kitchen. I am first in line now for anything that makes my life easier!
