The first time I made a cork trivet must have been magic as the corks fit perfectly into their box. This time, I needed to do research to figure out how to fill in gaps created by the different sized corks.
Thank goodness for the internet. I realize cooking wine corks sounds like a funky recipe that no one will enjoy as part of a meal, but that is the special trick to soften them up to cut safely into different shapes. Who knew that my ability to cook would spill over into my DIY projects? I learned something new today and that is the spice of life!
