Big Guy and I went to New Orleans years ago for our anniversary. As many know, the food in New Orleans is outstanding. While checking out the shops on the way to Café Du Monde to try our first beignet with coffee, we found a Christmas shop. As we browsed the aisles, we were inundated with plenty of ornaments with dates and places in NOLA. It was when we found our cooking gator that we knew we needed to bring him home. The cooking gator reminds me every time of our trip, eating too much red beans and rice and enjoying the sights and sounds of the Big Easy. I look forward to a time when we can return and again eat our way through the town. Who knows what ornament will next appear on my memory tree!
