Our summer got expensive real fast when we had to do maintenance on our roof. The good news is everything is fixed, and we have a seven-year warranty. YEAH! The bad news is this was an unexpected expense that dug into our savings.
Instead of getting upset, Big Guy and I have been planning some day trips. Our first outing was to Hostas on the Bluff in Fairview Heights, Illinois. It was an adventure getting there, but so worth the trip. The property is stunning, and the Hosta plants are everywhere for view and for sale. There were five that HAD to come home with us. We worked up an appetite and headed over the Belleville for lunch @tavernonmain618. The food and service were outstanding. We are just sorry it took us so long to find this gem. We ended our day at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows. We go yearly to see the lights at Christmas, but it was a great place to walk and be in nature. The perfect ending to a lovely day trip!
