Early in our marriage, the Big Guy and I adopted a Weimaraner. We fell in love with a blue-eyed grey ghost and did not look back even when our vet expressed initial concern about her health. Yes, we have since learned our lesson about checking out dogs and their breeders but this one was not going back!
The good news is our little girl turned out to be impressive after initial scares. We had great years of watching her grow and learn even as we transitioned from our first apartment to our Carondelet home. She was my protector and certainly was the watchdog of our neighborhood. Misty Blue quickly became a favorite of my dad as they would sit on the couch and watch television together. I do mean sit! Even as cancer riddled her body at the end, she would watch television and snuggle with all her favorite humans. Thanks to a sandstone image of Misty, I get to think of her often and continue to laugh at her antics. There was no question that once our little statue got banged up, I had to do some repair. I am happy to say thanks to our friends at Art Mart, I got the right paints to give my girl the color she needed to sit with honor once again in our home.
