I enjoy feeding humans and my dog, but I have never fed a sea loin…until today! Big Guy and I took our god daughter to the St. Louis Zoo for a behind the scenes adventure as part of her birthday present.
We were absolutely thrilled with the experience which included a tour and a visit with the Zoo’s oldest sea lion, Roby. This twenty-one-year-old was a big boy at over five hundred pounds, down from his usual summer weight of over seven hundred pounds. He was the perfect gentlemen and was able to execute over fifteen behaviors for our small tour group led by his outstanding trainer. I am not a lover of fish myself, but Roby was delighted with his bucket of fish following each behavior thrown by every member of our tour group. Yes, the bonus souvenir was the smell of fish on our hands! It was a priceless experience which I highly recommend. We will certainly have unforgettable memories of this special day!
