,In my working life I oversaw locations throughout the east and southeast. While not always my flight path, I was excited when I had a layover in Atlanta. I know this sounds insane since large airports can come with so many issues, but I always looked forward to stopping off at Savannah’s Pecan Pralines. As the name implies, I had to get my fill of pralines. Sugary deliciousness in every bite! Once I stopped traveling for work, I decided I had to figure out how to make them. I kept trying various recipes and was truly delighted with Julia Reed’s recipe. She nailed the recipe and it instantly transported me back to that little shop in Atlanta. In addition, when I eat them now, I think of Julia Reed and her legacy chronicling politics, food, and Southern life. I miss her.
