We were watching a cooking show and homemade ice cream was on the menu. Big Guy and I started talking about making ice cream as kids churning our arms off wondering if the effort would be worth it. Yes, of course it was fantastic!
Flash forward to today, we again wondered with the plethora of kitchen appliances how an ice cream machine could work into the Carondelet Kitchen. Well, we did it again. We bought a @cuisinart ice cream maker, and it is magic. We decided to make butter pecan ice cream as our first foray into using this new “fangled” machine. I do not wish to draw back the curtain, but you do have to plan to make this ice cream as you need time for the freezing bowl to set in the freezer and the ingredients need time to cool together in the refrigerator. Once everything was cool and ready, it was so easy. You poured in the ingredients and twenty minutes later we were eating ice cream. It was SO good and will certainly become a staple in our cozy Carondelet cottage.
