Do you have that 'one particular harbor' that you call your very own? Our special place was Englewood, Florida and we always had to play Jimmy Buffet’s song as we crossed into town. My parents found it odd, but they could not argue as it was a place of serenity for all of us.
As we ventured out on one of our non-beach days, we decided to go to St. Armands Circle in Sarasota to check out the shops and restaurants. We quickly fell in love not only with the Tommy Bahama shop, but the restaurant as well. There was something about the place that just screamed island-inspired and laid-back vibe that welcomed us into the place. I still have souvenirs from the place, but the memories are priceless such as my parents asking everyone in the bar to line up their drink glasses on the table for a gag photo to their doctor proving they were behaving themselves. Dad and I often giggling as we drank our “Bombay the Right Way” gin martinis with a delicious meal. Big Guy walking into the store empty-handed and walking out with a large bag of shirts to remember our trip. Mom wondering if we were all crazy. Good times!
