We finally have our cool weather and that means it is time to make the apple butter. I really should add that our former neighbors make it and then Big Guy and I show up to “ca-jar” it.
It has been our annual tradition to get together for our own version of an apple butter festival. We make an afternoon of it with lunch, football on television, watching the kids play, and canning the apple butter. It is always delicious thanks to the variety of apples and spices that go into the mix. I am already dreaming about the recipes I can pull together starring this perfect Fall treat!
