Big Guy and I decided to host a movie night for our friends and neighbors several years ago with a New Orleans theme. I remember the pot of food growing and growing until I had it in three pots. I was truly ready to cry under the stress of making a new recipe until the Big Guy gave me a hurricane and told me it would all turn out perfect. Big Guy was right, and the jambalaya was a hit. Unfortunately for our neighbor, so was the alcoholic version of our Hurricanes. Marie went home, under escort from her grandson, feeling no pain and complaining that frogs can’t talk. Yes, we watched Disney’s Princess and the Frog. We found out later our other neighbor, being too young to realize the difference between the lemonade and the hurricane pitchers, keep refilling Marie’s glass with the hard stuff. Whoops! Do not fear, Marie was fine the next day but still didn’t get the talking frogs. The irony is she was ok with talking cars from the previous movie night. It was fun remaking the jambalaya and remembering the fun of that evening. What a great memory!
