Let Us Have Lettuce This Fall!

I realize for many of us the opening statement to this blog must be incorrect. Big Guy and I could not believe it as we read our gardening books. Of course, we had to try it. Many thanks to the OK Hatchery in Kirkwood, Missouri for having the plants available for purchase.

Can you believe these beauties?!  We have spinach, romaine, and butter crisp lettuce. We are enjoying fresh salads as we continue our quest to can and prepare for the winter months. I realize we will be back to store bought before you know it but what a special fall treat!
