I grew up with one television and only three channels. Our remote was either my brother or me changing the channels! The irony is, like today, we did not feel like there was much to watch unless it was appointment television.
In my brother’s case, he was all about Fall and watching football. I remember dreading those days because I disliked the game. I did not understand it and thought it was a waste of time. Fast forward to today and, to my surprise, I have learned the game thanks to Big Guy’s tenure announcing high school football games. We are admittedly college football fans and genuinely enjoy the tradition of the game. Big Guy and I went to the same university, and here is another irony, our football team was always undefeated…because we did not have a team! We obviously have not enjoyed a tailgate party, so we do our own version at home. For the home opener, we opted for local brats from Rustic Roots and potato chips. Perfect!
