Hey, it’s National Laundry Day! Big deal. It is laundry day almost everyday in the Carondelet Kitchen, but I admit it would be nice to only do laundry one day out of the year!
I have mentioned previously that I am new to using an apron in the kitchen. Regardless of saving a few shirts, I tend to go through a lot of dish towels. It took me a long time to stop using paper towels which was an undeniable holdover from my honeymoon days of no dishwasher and no washer and dryer. Ah, the joys of being married many moons ago when these items were bought later in one’s marriage. Big Guy and I got good at eating out, bringing home fast food eaten on paper plates, and doing laundry in a laundromat or at our parents. I plan to mark this day as one of gratitude that I do have modern appliances that help me through my day. I do not miss planning my days around getting laundry done outside my home.
