Oh, You Crazy Weather

Big Guy has been itching get back to his gardening. While he is nursing his seedlings, the call of the great outdoors is tempting him to start basic work in the garden. He has overturned his winter cover crops and prepared his beds.

The garlic from the Fall is still showing great signs of contentment in their winter bed. The best package Big Guy got in the mail was his onions with strict instructions to plant within two days. He marched outside and was an incredibly happy man… until St. Louis threw us a winter storm. We do not have a greenhouse, but I am delighted to report his makeshift design saved the onions and they too are settling into their new home.

The garden is going to be fantastic this year with so many things from potatoes to tomatoes to beans. Now, I get to start dreaming about recipes once our Carondelet Garden starts to give us its bounty.
