My parents used to be snowbirds spending six months in Florida and the rest of the time in St. Louis. When they first landed in Florida, the go-to restaurant was Lock ‘N Key. They deemed it the special restaurant which ended up on everyone’s itinerary during a visit.
My favorite dish was the shrimp belvedere which was their fancy name for shrimp wrapped with Swiss cheese and bacon and baked to perfection. It seems like such a simple dish, but I now admit they did magic to their version with the shrimp and the preparation of the ingredients. I was not too disappointed with my attempt at recreating the recipe, but I think I will just plan a trip to Florida and let them do the cooking!
