Big Guy and I were invited to a friend’s house for dinner many years ago. Instead of the usual fare, our friend said proudly we were doing breakfast for dinner. Anyone who has read my blogs know this is always a great idea. The fare was waffles and maple sausage. Along with the usual butter and syrup, she pulled out an array of fruit to top the waffles. Just to be “fancy,” she even offered whipped cream. HEAVEN! I guess we were very effusive with our praise since Santa brought us our first waffle iron for Christmas that year. I find this to be one of my favorite meals in the cold days of winter. It is filling and keeps us warm throughout the days with happy memories of sharing this meal with our friends.
