The Demise of the Tea and Coffee Set?

What happened to the days when you would stop for morning and afternoon tea?  Obviously, we have all gotten so busy that we just stop off and grab our favorite beverage on the run.

Should we?  The Big Guy and I found great comfort in reinstituting this rite of passage in the early days of the pandemic.  While working from home, I giggled every time Big Guy handed me a hot cup of tea and a sweet treat.  In fact, there were a couple of times I could hear my colleagues in a Zoom call wondering what the sweet treat of the day would be since we mixed it up between biscuits and cookies.  While I baked many of the treats, Big Guy even went online to explore items from abroad where tea is still revered as a necessity of life.

While the pictured set is more for show than actual use, I love it not only as a family heirloom but as a remembrance of a time when things appeared to be simple.  Time to brew some tea and bake our next treat!
