There are times when dates collide and create a perfect opportunity to remember our loved ones who are no longer with us. All Souls’ Day, which is a day to remember and pray for the dead, landed on Thirsty Thursday.
I realize this may seem crass, but I am remembering my parents and brother who all believed in the sanctity of happy hour. Big Guy and I, plus my parents, looked forward to Thirsty Thursday which became a tradition of going to dinner most Thursdays to celebrate another week of this thing we call life. So, it is fitting to go to our local watering hole on this day to raise a glass while reminiscing and retelling stories about them. I miss them every day, but laughing at the antics of my family keeps them alive in my heart…always!
