When Big Guy and I got married we came together with very little in the way of great cooking utensils. Heck, we didn’t even have everyday dishware for over a year. Ah, the days of paper plates and very little dishes! Like most women, I gravitated toward buying the things my parents used in their kitchen. I got my Paul Revere Cookware set and an electric skillet and felt like I had all I needed to become a decent cook. Cooking food, however, soon started to become a hobby and then a passion for me so I longed for more items to play with in the kitchen. As I grew and learned about food, I remember my MIL asking if I wanted her Guardian Service. If you don’t know about this cookware, let’s just say it is so heavy you need a special gripping device to move the pans around the kitchen. I quickly declined swearing I would never use such heavy pots and pans in my life. I am now eating my words as I consistently use my Calphalon, Lodge, Staub, Le Creuset and Martha Stewart Dutch ovens alongside my faithful Paul Revere set. The good news is I don’t have to worry about doing my upper arms exercises at the gym! The bad news is I missed out on using some cool vintage cookware!
