I love making meatloaves and mushroom bourguignon, but the recipes make large amounts and there are only so many times you can eat the same meal. I know I am in trouble if my Big Guy sighs as he looks at the plate.
I wanted to try one last meal combination since I doubted the leftovers would ever come back out of the freezer. It seemed too obvious, but I cut up the meatloaf, mixed it with the mushroom bourguignon, added beef gravy, then served it over egg noodles. The Carondelet Kitchen version of a beef stroganoff! It felt great to create a new meal out of two separate recipes. Perfect!
