“Water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink!” I am sure the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge would be amazed how dependent we are on our first world luxuries. I watched the water pressure fall knowing we were in trouble. The texts started coming in telling us there was a water main break and we were under a boil order advisory. Big Guy quickly purchased more bottled water supply, but to have to wash the dishes with one hand while the other one was pouring out water was certainly a comedy of errors.
The next time you see a water department employee, you best give them a hardy thank you and prayer of gratitude. Yes, neighbor, I am so thankful for you! These men and women work hard for us to keep the water coming despite the many challenges we have with our infrastructure in the Lou! Hip, Hip, Hooray!
