If you are of a certain age, you find yourself going through family treasures due to a death in the family. In my case, I came across this item that was always kept in my parents’ secretary with their special keep sakes. Obviously, I never asked my parents what it was when they were still with me. So, like every person on the planet I turned to the internet. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it was an egg coddler. My parents had a cool kitchen item, and I didn’t know it??!! For those who don’t know, which I didn’t, you place your egg in the coddler and then submerge the coddler in boiled water for 7-8 minutes. The result is a lightly cooked egg which you can serve in the coddler if you are feeling fancy. Now I am excited to go through the rest of the boxes. Who knows what “ancient” thing I’ll find next that I can use in my Carondelet Kitchen!
