where have you been all of my life?

I have fallen in love with Mary Berry! Big Guy and I were looking for something fun to watch on BritBox and came across her show, Mary Berry’s Country House Secrets. She was given access to Highclere Castle, Scone Palace, Powderham Castle and Goodwood House where she not only gave us a history of the house, but also a lesson in the types of food typically served in these glorious places in the United Kingdom.

I was hooked and started to learn more about Mary. It seems she became known to the U.S. market through The Great British Bake-Off series. The amazing thing is she is a Dame (DBE) as well as a well-known English writer, chef, baker and television presenter. She has written over 75 cookbooks and is still going strong at the young age of 87!

I just picked up her cookbook, Mary Berry Cooks to Perfection, and I can’t wait to try her recipes. I also can’t wait for her three-part series Mary Berry’s Fantastic Feasts. She is a great example of bringing passion for living through the transformative power of food!
